Possible reasons
why a woman wants to abort her child 1. Because women have now achieved almost equal rights
with men in many countries and therefore want to arrange their lives freely,
self-determined and independently. 2. A parent suffers from an addiction problem, serious
illness, is violent, or has other serious psychological problems. 3. The child's father is pressing or blackmailing the
mother: 4. The man wanted to bind the woman to him through
pregnancy, which the woman refuses. 5. The man tries to control and dominate the woman: 6. The woman does not love the man because she carries
a deep contempt for men inside. 7. The pregnancy resulted from sexual abuse or rape. 8. The woman found her own childhood terrible and still
suffers greatly from her past. 9. The woman cannot love the child, but is afraid of
him and sees it as a burden. 10. The woman is in financial distress. 11. The child's parents already have several children
and feel unable to cope with. 12. Parents have very little space in the apartment. 13. The parents are ashamed because they are older and
the other children are almost grown up. 14. The woman no longer feels attractive with a big
belly. 15. The woman is afraid for the future of the child. 16. The parents have problems with contraception. 17. Because of an expected disability of the child. 18. Because having a child just doesn't fit into the
woman's current career plans or into the career plans of the parents. 19. Because the child was conceived illegitimately and
the woman does not want to burden the marriage with someone else's child. 20. The woman rejects the child's father because he
treats her badly or neglects her. 21. The woman wants to separate from her partner, who does
not accept it. 22. The woman is burdened by a systemic entanglement
(e.g., if a deceased member of her family of origin has not been grieved
for). 23. The
mother is a minor and therefore financially dependent and perhaps unable to
cope with a child. 24. In
a society, abortion as a form of family planning is common and legal. 25. Scientists, politicians and the media claim that an
