What
do I want with my website? A
woman dressed it into a beautiful picture many years ago when she told me: With
your lectures and texts you have kicked a bullet in me - and now it rolls and
rolls and rolls and rolls ... Yes, in this I see the meaning of the many texts of my website: Not only to offer my diverse "reflections on God and the
world", but to initiate the process of a spiritual-mental development in
people. Even if each person in his originality finds his own approach to
reality and in his thoughts and in his shaping of life the material, the
spiritual and mental world is reflected in a unique way, I believe that there
are fundamental relationship values which are helpful for every person to be
able to lead a meaningful life: · To develop a deep
sense of belonging to the large community of nature. · To enjoy living
in one's own body and to perceive the whole variety and diversity of feelings
within oneself, to learn to accept them and to understand their signals. · To accept one's
own past back to childhood with all its feelings and light and shadow sides
and to accept it as one's own history. · Neither judging
oneself and one's own moods and feelings, nor judging one's fellow human
beings - knowing: Whoever evaluates others instead of taking the path of
understanding begins to freeze spiritually and mentally; whoever renounces
evaluations remains in the process of understanding and spiritual-mental
growth. · To expose and
criticize every form of disenfranchisement, injustice, disadvantage and
oppression. When talking about "God and the world", the
"world" for me has three dimensions: 1. The
scientifically explorable external world. 2. The social and
historical reality of peoples, religions, cultures and the whole mankind. 3. The psychic
inner world of feelings and human relations. When talking
about "God", for me it is about the sense- and value-perception of
the three mentioned dimensions of the world. This includes the meaning and value interpretations of the Bible and
other basic religious texts; it also includes pronouncements by the churches,
prayers, words of blessing and theological texts of all kinds. Since very many of these texts contain outdated interpretations of
meaning and values, it is also a matter of a critical examination of them. Manfred Hanglberger Link to
